What to test, and why each one matters
Open the channels you care about
Not the 200 you will never watch. Find your sports channels, your news channel, the kids' channels, and check each one starts quickly and stays stable.
Play something from VOD
Open a film and skip forward a few times. Seeking is a much harder test of a server than plain playback.
Check the EPG
Confirm the guide is populated and that programme times match your timezone rather than the server's.
Test the way you will actually watch
If the TV is on Wi-Fi at the far end of the house, test it there. Not next to the router with the phone in your hand.
Ask support something
Message us during the trial. How quickly a provider answers a non-paying tester says a lot about how they will treat a paying customer.
If something buffers during the trial, check this first
Most trial problems are fixable in a minute and are not the server:
- VPN routing. A VPN endpoint on another continent adds latency to every packet. Switch it off, or pick a server near you, and test again.
- Wi-Fi distance. On a TV box, plug in Ethernet if you possibly can. Wi-Fi at the end of a hallway is the most common cause of "the stream freezes every few minutes".
- The app's buffer setting. In TiViMate and Smarters, raising the buffer slightly smooths out a shaky line at the cost of a second of start-up delay.
- An overloaded Firestick. The basic stick has limited memory. Clear the cache, close background apps, and prefer a lighter player.
- One channel versus all channels. If one stream stutters and the rest are fine, that is a source issue on that channel. Tell us and we will move you to another feed of it.
Tell us what you see and on which device. We would rather spend ten minutes fixing your setup during a free trial than lose you over something that was never the server's fault.

Is the trial really free?
Yes. No card, no deposit, no "free after cashback". You message us, we create a real line, you test it. It costs us a few minutes of work, which is cheaper than arguing with an unhappy customer who bought blind.
How long does the trial last?
12 hours. That covers a quiet afternoon and a busy evening, and it is the busy evening where weak servers give themselves away.
Is the trial the same as the paid service?
Same servers, same channel list, same VOD library. There is no cut-down demo version, because a demo that behaves differently from the real thing tells you nothing.
Can I have a second trial?
Trials are one per household. If you could not finish testing because the box broke or the internet went down, say so. We will usually extend it rather than argue about it.
What should I check during the trial?
The channels you watch, at the time you normally watch them. Start a stream during peak evening hours, jump between a few channels, open something from VOD, and check the EPG is showing your local times.
What happens when the trial ends?
The line stops. Nothing is charged and nothing is kept. If you want to carry on we create a paid line, and if you tell us before the trial runs out we can often keep the same credentials.
